OBD SearchUnderstand your fault code.

Start with a code, part of a code, or a description. Explore engine, transmission, ABS, EV/hybrid, body and communication faults—with make-specific references alongside standard OBD codes.

Partial codes work. Spaces, letter case and hyphens in a code do not matter. Description keywords can be combined.

A CODE IS THE STARTING POINT

Get the right diagnosis.
Then make a clear repair plan.

A fault code identifies a detected condition, not automatically a failed part. ZBT Auto Services can check the full scan, vehicle details and symptoms before recommending repairs.

Coverage, sources & how to use the results

This searchable reference contains 9,414 generic entries plus selected make-specific definitions. BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen have community coverage. Audi and Porsche include an expanded selection of manufacturer-bulletin references for transmission, engine, suspension, HVAC, body and communication systems. These are vehicle-specific references, including standard-format codes with manufacturer context, not an exhaustive list of enhanced codes. Honda now includes model-specific ABS/VSA and electric parking-brake references, including numeric codes such as 81-20 and 121-11. Hyphens and spaces are optional when searching; retain the full suffix when interpreting a result. Ford ABS suffixes, Hyundai wheel-speed/ESC references and additional GM, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru, MINI and Volvo references are included. EV coverage includes Tesla owner-display alerts and selected Hyundai, Kia, Nissan and GM EV/hybrid fault codes. Tesla alerts are not standardized OBD-II DTCs. Use the EV & hybrid filter for battery, charging and electric-drive references. It is not a complete factory diagnostic database for every vehicle, year or control module.

Match the full code, vehicle make, model year, engine, control module and any failure/symptom suffix. Some Porsche PDK entries share a broad factory fault-group definition; finer distinctions require the full PIWIS record. Diagnostic-session status codes are identified as such and do not automatically indicate a failed component. A shorter code may match several different references. Generic descriptions and manufacturer wording can differ; a generic match does not establish the definition for your exact vehicle. ABS filters use description keywords and do not replace a complete chassis scan.

Community definitions: Wal33D DTC Database (MIT). Selected manufacturer-context references are independently summarized from factory bulletins, government technical reports and diagnostic references. Public manufacturer service-manual reproductions are labeled explicitly, with vehicle and controller context. Cause-list rows and unassigned make data were excluded. Manufacturer names identify reference context; no affiliation is implied.

EV code lookup is informational. Our Tesla, Rivian and Lucid shop services remain focused on tires, body and glass; other EV system concerns require an appropriately qualified provider.
